Margaret “Peggy” Schwarz Yuda, 89 of Sonora, KY, passed away Sunday, October 22, 2017. Peggy was born in Union City, New Jersey on April 7, 1928 to Francis and Sophie "Betty" (Bothner) Schwarz. She was married to the late John Joseph Yuda, Sr. for 64 years and resided in New City, New York where they raised their four children and owned a hardware store. Peggy worked for the Rockland County Board of Elections for over 15 years. She enjoyed reading, was an excellent seamstress, loved politics and found great joy in spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her children, John Joseph Yuda Jr. (Linda) of Louisville, KY, Frank Yuda (Dale) of Tell City, IN, Peggy Yuda Newton (Joe) of Hodgenville, KY; 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Catherine Cuccia (John) and brother Donald Schwarz (Patty). She was preceded in death by her daughter, Donna Yuda Turner (Ricky) of Glasgow, KY, her brother, Frank Schwarz (Mary) and her sister, Madeline Zimmerman (Bob). The funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery. Visitation is from 4-8 p.m Wednesday at Brown Funeral Home.
