Margaret Susan Osborne Crady

Margaret Susan Osborne Crady, 84 of Elizabethtown, died Saturday, August 26, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family and caregivers after a long battle with cancer. She was the youngest of 11 children born in Rineyville to Generose Peak and W. L. Osborne, Sr. Susan graduated from Bethlehem Academy. She retired from Hardin Memorial Hospital, where she was a Switch Board Operator and later volunteered in OSEC, Outpatient Surgery Department. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church and a member of the Choir and Resurrection Choir. Susan spent much of her time on her passion for decorating and restoring furniture for her home and those she loved. She was preceded in death by her husband Arvin "Bud" Crady; a son-in-law, Chip Embrey; her parents, Generose Peak Osborne and W. L. Osborne, Sr. and her siblings, Jimmy Osborne, Paul Osborne, Mac Osborne, Sis Stith, Bill Osborne, Pete Osborne, Aggie Dunn, Anne Spears and Alice Mulhall. She is survived by three children, Cindy (Dennis) Strickland and Allison Embrey all of New Albany and Kevin (Martha) Crady of Lexington; one brother, Bernard Osborne of Elizabethtown and two grandchildren, Trey Embrey and Erin Embrey. The funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church with Rev. Martin Linebach officiating. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and continue after 9 a.m. Thursday at Brown Funeral Home. There will be a Prayer Vigil Service at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
