Mary Lou Sears Harrod, 88, of Elizabethtown, passed away peacefully Thursday, July 27, 2017 at her home with her daughter, Fran, by her side. She was a native of Charleston, West Virginia, was a retired registered nurse at St. Joseph's Hospital in Lexington, and worked at Kiddie Town in Radcliff. She was an avid bridge player, former president of Welcome Wagon, and former band booster president at Elizabethtown High School. She loved her grandkids and her dog, Maddie Roo. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Harrod; son, Robert Leslie Harrod, II; parents, Pearl Jerome "P.J." Sears and Gertrude Frances Sears Dorsey; and sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Harper. She is survived by her daughter, Frances A. "Fran" Harrod of Elizabethtown; daughter-in-law, Debbie Harrod of Springfield; and three grandchildren, Lindsey King, Kristen Harrod, and Caitlyn Berry. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at Grace Heartland Church with Bro. Jeff Noel officiating. Visitation will be from 9-11 am Thursday at the church.
