Robert Taylor

Robert Taylor, 80, of Elizabethtown, died Monday, July 24, 2017at Hardin Memorial Hospital. He was a native of White City, Kentucky, a graduate of Buffalo High School, and retired as a carpenter from Whittenberg Construction Company. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church where they were members of the bereavement committee. He was also a member of the SAL-Sons of the American Legion Post #113, Morrison Masonic Lodge #76 F&AM, and a lifetime member of Carpenters Union #3223. He was preceded in death by his parents, Riley and Mary Slack Taylor; and brother, Donald Taylor. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Betty Jean Thomas Taylor; two sons, Robert Taylor, Jr. of Jacksonville, Florida and Scott (Tamara) Taylor of Elizabethtown; two daughters, Vickie Nolen of Naples, Florida and Dana (Bill) Best of Decatur, Illinois; two brothers, Richard (Mary) Taylor of Louisville and Riley Taylor, Jr. of Radcliff; four step children, Merle Buckles, Jr., Vicky (Mark) Falkovich, Janice Hilton, and Mark (Linda) Buckles; 18 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. The funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church with Rev. Martin Linebach officiating. Burial follows in St. James Cemetery. Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Brown Funeral Home. A Prayer Vigil will be held at 7 p.m. Condolences may be expressed online at www.brownfuneral.com.
