Deborah Sue Calvert

Deborah Sue Calvert, 63, of Elizabethtown, died Friday, July 14, 2017 at Kensington Center. She was a native of Hardin County, and a Sunday school director at Cecilia Baptist Church for many years. Ms. Deborah S. Calvert of Corporate University has served the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and the public for over 35 years; and during this period, has demonstrated the highest level of professionalism and devotion to duty. During her career with the Department of Army, Ms. Calvert demonstrated the highest level of professionalism and devotion to duty in her role as Clerk Typist at Fort Knox. In the Division of Supervision, Ms. Calvert distinguished herself by leading scores of examinations as a commissioned Bank Examiner in the Elizabethtown, Kentucky, field office, rising to Supervisory Examiner, and later to Field Office Supervisor in Little Rock, Arkansas. During her service to the Division of Supervision, Ms. Calvert was selected for numerous prestigious roles, including the Executive Assistant to the Division of Supervision’s Deputy Director, the initial onsite representative of the Division to the Course Oversight Group, and Review Examiner in the Memphis and Columbus regional offices. Ms. Calvert’s dedication to the Corporation, Corporate University, and her colleagues has earned her the enduring respect, loyalty and admiration of the FDIC and its employees. The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation presented a resolution and preamble to Ms. Calvert in 2012 as a token of their appreciation for having served the United State of America so admirably. She was preceded in death by her father, Edward Calvert. She is survived by her mother, Lucille Hilton Calvert of Cecilia; brother, Larry Calvert of Elizabethtown; sister, Linda (Ed) Carter of Jacksonville, Florida; four nephews, Jeff Johnson, Tim Calvert, Joe Calvert, and Christopher Carter; and one niece, Michelle Green. The funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Living Faith Baptist Fellowship with Rev. Roger Jasper officiating. Burial will follow in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens. Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Sunday at Brown Funeral Home and continues after 11 a.m. Monday at Living Faith Baptist Fellowship.
