Edna Louise Hack Meyers-Emmerling

Edna Louise Hack Meyers-Emmerling was born May 18, 1938 in South, Kentucky, died June 29, 2017 at Hardin Memorial Hospital peaceful and surrounded by her family. She was 79 years young. She grew up in Grayson County before moving to Louisville then to Hardin County in 1974. She married the love of her life in January 2011. Through the years she has had several occupations. After 25 years, she retired from the Hardin County Detention Center where she was called "Miss Edna" by everybody even by inmates after they were released. Then working at the Etown Tourism Bureau, she enjoyed meeting many people. The only strangers were the people she never met. She was always ready to tell a joke, she enjoyed traveling but didn't get to as much as she would have liked. She especially enjoyed looking at the lake and feeding and watching the birds from her sunroom. She loved music and loved to dance. She loved life and like Minnie Pearl was "just so proud to be here". She dearly loved her family and Pokey and was dearly loved by them. She will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Bradley Hack and Daisy Lunn Hack; two brothers, John B. Hack Jr. and Louis E. Hack; four sisters, Ruby Stewart, Nellie Willis, Virginia Willis, and Elsie Meyers; grandson, Jason Wayne Malloney; and a step granddaughter, Denise Thompson. She is survived by her husband, William "Bill" Emmerling; three sons, William Randall Meyers of Sonora, Richard L. (Shelley) Meyers of Sonora, and Bryan K. (Jennifer) Meyers of Elizabethtown; one daughter, Sandra Ann (Kenny) Thompson of Cecilia; one sister, Shirley Downs Yankowy of Jeffersonville, Indiana; four grandchildren, Miranda Meyers, Jimmy (Laticia) Thompson, Rickie Lee (Marty) Fulkerson, and Sean Meyers; seven great grandchildren, Jacob, Collin, Maisy, Beth, Deanna, Trent, and Nathan; great-great granddaughter, Paisley; two step grandsons and their families; one step great grandson; and four step children, Bill (Sherry) Emmerling, Jr. of Arkansas, Jeff (Michelle) Emmerling of Lynnwood, Ryan (Nikki) Emmerling of Mt. Sherman, Lisa (Mark) Zimmerman, and their familes; many nieces, nephews, family and friends; and her faithful loving dog, Pokey. The funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home with Dr. Chuck Darland officiating. Burial follows at Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens.
