Joseph C. Guffey

Joseph C. Guffey, 64, of Elizabethtown, died Sunday, June 25, 2017 at his home. Joseph was raised in Hardin County and a Deacon and founding member of Open Valley Church. He retired from Houchens, Morgan's Decorating and Guffey's Cabinets. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, L.H. and Eva Guffey, and Elbert Goldsmith and Margaret Goldsmith Irwin. He is survived by his wife, Vetricia Peters Guffey; two children, Brandon (Jessica) Guffey of Big Clifty and Heather (Chris) Choate of Upton; parents, Connie and Betty Guffey of Cecilia; three sisters, Sandy (Charlie) VanBibber of Killeen, Texas, Suzie (James) Pennington of Flagstaff, Arizona, and Debbie Guffey of Elizabethtown; and four grandchildren, Caleb Choate, Coman Choate, Sawyer Guffey, and Holland Guffey. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Open Valley Church with Brother Malcolm Doyle and Brother Jeff Doyle officiating. Burial follows at Open Valley Cemetery.
