Mary Lelia Hagan

Mary Lelia Hagan, 103, of Glendale, passed away Saturday April 29, 2017. She was born in Cecilia, Kentucky on January 29, 1914 and was a devout Catholic and a member of St. James Catholic Church. She has been a resident of Glendale, Kentucky since 1942, and was an avid Kentucky Wildcats basketball fan. Mrs. Hagan was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Melford Stephen Hagan; sister, Pearl Close; a brother, Walter Burkhead, who died in World War II, and grandson, Joseph Warren Hagan. She is survived by six children; William Robert Hagan of New York, James Stephen Hagan (Delberta) of Copan, Oklahoma, Betty Jane Dobson (Raymond) of Brooksville Florida, John Walter Hagan (Loretta) of Orlando, Florida, Larry Lewis Hagan (Catherine) of Elizabethtown, and Rose Mary Gravell (Edward) of Glendale as well as thirteen grandchildren; Jim Jr., Theresa, Scott, Cindy, Michael and Robert Hagan, Jeffrey and Regina Gravell, Renauti Hodges, Jason Hodge and Steve, Rachel and Dwayne Dobson; thirteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. A private family visitation will be held Wednesday at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. A Funeral Mass will be Wednesday at 12:00 noon at St. James Catholic Church with Father Matthew Hardesty officiating. Burial will follow in St. James Catholic Cemetery.
