Marvin Dale

Marvin Dale, 82 of Elizabethtown, died Saturday, March 18, 2017 at his home. He was a native of Franklin, TN, served in the U.S. Army and was an active member of Memorial United Methodist Church. He was a longtime member of the Elizabethtown Lions Club and was a volunteer at Warm Blessings. He retired from Bell South Telephone Company after 30+ years and the Hardin County Clerks Office after 20+ years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester E. and Maidell Chapman Dale and a brother, Eugene E. Dale. He is survived by his wife, Joan Hunt Dale; two sons, Keith (Penni) Dale of Union, KY and Douglas (Becky) Dale of Cumming, GA; one sister, Lois McDaniel of Horse Cave; four grandchildren, Kelli (Tyler) Horter, Kati (Billy) Cole, Amanda (Michael) Barnett and Samantha Dale; two great grandchildren, Olivia Barnett and Madelyn Barnett and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Neal Janes, Rev. John Vaught and Rev. Don Sexton officiating. Burial will follow in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Church.
