Daniel Philipp Marlow

Daniel Philipp Marlow, 44, of Elizabethtown, died March 1, 2017. He was born in Stuttgart, Germany, a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, and served in the U.S. Marines. He worked as a safety engineer for International Corporations, graduated in 1990 from East Hardin High School and then from Eastern Kentucky University. He was an avid helicopter and sports aircraft pilot. He is survived by two sons, Cayden Trimble Marlow of Science Hill and Zane Gunnar Marlow of Gainesville, FL; his parents, Robert Marlow and Eva Marlow-Bott of Elizabethtown; his life partner, Nichole Mertes of Louisville; his brother and sister-in-law, Ferdinand and Jule Marlow and their children, Lilly, Tucker, Kadyn and Noah all of Elizabethtown; three sisters, Lynn Marie Marlow of Radcliff, Ruth Ann Marlow of Greenbryar, TN, and Lorraine Jane Stella of Nebraska; his God Father, Reiner Bott and his aunt and uncle Werner Doeller and Christiane Bott all of Germany and extended family and friends in the United States and Germany. The funeral will be Tuesday at 4 p.m. at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church with Rev. Monty Gleitz officiating. Visitation is from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
