Maxine Weaver Macy

Maxine Weaver Macy, 84, died February 1, 2017, at her residence in Elizabethtown surrounded by her family. She was native of Humnoke, Arkansas but was a lifelong resident of Elizabethtown. Along with her husband, Jim Macy, they were commissioned agents for Exxon in Hardin and surrounding counties. Maxine began working as a telephone operator in Little Rock, Arkansas, and was also an operator in Elizabethtown and retired from GTE. She supported many of her children's activities by volunteering. She worked with Cub Scouts and Elizabethtown High School Band Boosters. Maxine also volunteered at the Hardin County Public Library. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Macy; her mother, Marie Tanner; her two dads, Elmer Weaver and Jake Tanner; her son, James, G. Macy; and a brother, Tom Tanner. She is survived by four daughters, Brenda Macy, Honey (Jim) Higdon, Sharon Macy, and Karen Macy; four grandchildren, Cherish (Robby) Cothern, Andrew Higdon, Macy Higdon, and Alex Higdon; three great grandchildren, Hunter Cothern, Madison Cothern, and Logan Cothern; two brothers, Carroll Dean (Mary Jane) Weaver of Warrenton, Virginia and Jerry (Christine) Tanner of Tulare, California; two sisters-in-laws, Georgia Macy of Louisville and Martha Tanner of Fresno, California; and many well-loved cousins, nieces, nephews, and one uncle, Paul Weaver of Little Rock, Arkansas. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Brown Funeral Home with Revs. Mark Judd and Rachel Scott Marshall officiating. Burial follows at Hardin Memorial Park. The visitation is from 4-8 p.m. Saturday and after 10 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the donor's favorite charity.
