Lola Allen

Lola Hazel Allen, 94, of Elizabethtown, died Thursday, December 15, 2016, at North Hardin Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was a native of Hart County and formerly worked at Back Home Restaurant. She was a member of Central Avenue Baptist Church and was very active in the United Homemakers Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Cook Allen; a daughter, Candy Brown, two sons, Jerry Allen and Jackie Allen, her parents, Lewis and Bertha Jaggers Cottrell, four brothers, Claude Cottrell, Clellan Cottrell, Archie Cottrell and Herbert Cottrell and three sisters, Lura Dodson, Thelma Cofer and Emma Thompson. She is survived by two sons, Sonny (Brenda) Allen and Mark Allen both of Elizabethtown, four daughters, Linda (Tommy) Fulkerson, Carolyn (Bill) Matherly and Tammy (Gary) Johnson all of Elizabethtown and Pamela (Mike) Bernard of Louisville, a daughter-in-law, Diane Allen, 33 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren and ten great great grandchildren. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Central Avenue Baptist Church with Rev. Tom Wicker officiating. Burial will be in Upton Cemetery. Visitation is 3 to 8 p.m. Friday at Brown Funeral Home and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the church. Expressions of sympathy may go to the Central Avenue Baptist Church Building Fund.
