Dulcie Brassfield, 95 of Elizabethtown, died Monday, November 21, 2016 at Atria Elizabethtown. Dulcie was a native of Barbourville, KY and graduated from Union College in Barbourville, where she also served as a librarian. Dulcie married Clyde Milton Brassfield in 1942. Following Clyde's graduation from Medical School in 1953, Dulcie and Clyde came to Elizabethtown where they devoted their time and efforts to the community. Dulcie served on the Hardin County library board, was instrumental in establishment of the "Bookmobile", and served as the Board's Chairperson. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. A.L. Parker and May Horn Parker; a brother Elmer Parker; three sisters, Ruth Toll, Martha Innings and Susie Ana Parker; and nieces Dulcie Ann Patterson and Daisy Ruth Micklovic. She is survived by her nephew, Perry (Mary Anne) Toll. The funeral will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Don Sexton officiating. Burial will follow in Hardin Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 12 to 2 p.m Wednesday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of Contributions to Hardin County Public Library or Hardin Memorial Hospital.
