Betty Kolpak

Betty Lou Kolpak, 86, of Elizabethtown KY passed away Wednesday September 21, 2016 at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown Kentucky. Born December 15, 1929 she was the daughter of Roscoe and Pearl (Kitchen) Funk. She married Edward F. Kolpak on September 03, 1955 in Oak Park Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents, several brothers and sisters, and her late husband Edward on August 04, 1993. She completed a course of study in Beauty Culture from the Ravens-Croft School in Fort Wayne Indiana, and spent many years doing hair for people in her home in Carpentersville Illinois. She was a member of Trinity Methodist Church in Carpentersville, IL before moving to Kentucky in 2000 and becoming a member of Memorial United Methodist Church in Elizabethtown where she was a member of the Wesley Fellowship Sunday School class. She had been a resident at the RobinBrooke assisted living facility for a number of months in Elizabethtown KY, where she made many friends and enjoyed their activities and the time she spent outside as well. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law Douglas E. and Carrie (Tilley) Kolpak, three grandchildren Kyle Kolpak, Kelley Kolpak, and Kody Kolpak all of Elizabethtown, and three sisters, a sister-in-law and two brothers-in-law - Jean Pischke of Lombard IL, Joan D'Antonio of Wauconda IL, Charles and La Donna Whetzel of Wolcottville IN, Anna Carlson of Villa Park IL, Warren Rowe in Yuba City California, and nearly 25 nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 11:00-12:00 pm Friday September 23, at Memorial United Methodist Church and Services will be from 12:00-1:00pm Friday September 23 at Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Garland Hawkins and Rev. Neil Janes officiating. Additional Services will be held Saturday September 24, at Laird Funeral Home in West Dundee, IL. Burial will be at Windridge Cemetery in Cary Illinois.
