Robert Mensa O'Bryan

Robert Mensa O'Bryan, 91 of Elizabethtown, died Friday, September 16, 2016 at his home. He was a native of Owensboro, served in the Army Air Corps during WWII and was a member of St. James Catholic Church. He was a member of the American Legion Post #113, Knights of Columbus Council #1455 and the Rosary Guild at St. James Catholic Church. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 35 years employment. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Hillerby O'Bryan; his parents, Paul and Bernadette Carrico O'Bryan and two brothers, Joe O'Bryan and Marshall O'Bryan. He is survived by one son, Mark (Maria) O'Bryan of Louisville; three daughters, Georgette Marie (Mike) Brackett of Louisville, and Kathleen Ann O'Bryan amd Kelly Ann O'Bryan both of Elizabethtown; six brothers, George (Mary Jane) O'Bryan, Charlie (Lucille) O'Bryan, Tommy (Susie) O'Bryan and Richard (Janice) O'Bryan all of Louisville, Jimmy O'Bryan of Cincinnati, OH and Mike O'Bryan of Detroit, MI; three sisters, Theresa Foppiano and Mary Jo Scharffemberger both of Louisville and Sister Mary Celeste O'Bryan of Buffalo, NY; 14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. The funeral will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church with Rev. Martin Linebach officiating. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday and continue after 9 a.m. Tuesday at Brown Funeral Home. There will be a Prayer Vigil service at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
