Angela Rose Smith Jenkins, 69, of Elizabethtown, died Saturday, August 27, 2016 at Hardin Memorial Hospital. She was a native of Baltimore, MD, a member of Gilead Baptist Church and was a retired library tech at ECTC. She was a Kentucky Colonel, was a Master Gardner with the Extension Service and was a Lincoln Trail Master Gardner. She was also an author. She was preceded in death by her parents, Warner Garrison Smith and Wanda Blancett Smith and a son, Hugh Allen Jenkins. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, William Allen "Buddy" Jenkins, one daughter, Shelly Denise (Michael) Loyall of Taylorsville, one sister Arla June Bray of Louisville and two grandchildren, Steven Loyall and Kevin Loyall. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Sam Hinkson officiating. Burial will be in Gilead Baptist Cemetery in Glendale. Visitation is 3 to 8 p.m. Monday and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may go to the food pantry at Gilead Baptist Church.
