Doris Jean Slinker Hawkins 63 of Elizabethtown, died Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at Jewish Hospital in Louisville. She was born in Larue County and raised in Hardin County. She retired after 32 years from Kroger. She was a loving wife, mom and nana. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Herman and Inez Miller Slinker, a grandson, Donavan Tyler Hawkins and a sister, Betty Ann Holman. She is survived by her husband of 35 1/2 years, Randy Hawkins; two children, Joshua (Ashley) Hawkins of Elizabeththown and Brandy (Corey) Simoneit-Wright of Cecilia; two brothers, Vernon (Brenda) Robinson of Park City and Arnold Robinson of Elizabethtown; one sister, Brenda (Marion) Enlow of Elizabethtown and five grandchildren, Ashton Simoneit, Gavin Simoneit, Myla Hawkins and Baylan Hawkins. The funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home with burial following at Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens.
