John Edward Edmondson

John Edward Edmondson, 65 of Elizabethtown, died Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at Hosparus Inpatiend Care Center at Nortons Hospital. He was a native of Hardin County, a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church and served in the U.S. Army. He retired from Fort Knox Civil Service. He was a former volunteer for Helping Hand, St. Vincent DePaul Society, the Jail Ministry and Companion House. He was always giving of himself for the less fortunate. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sheryl Anne Rickett Edmondson and his parents, William Millard and Mary Louise Flowers Edmondson. He is survived by three children, Sarah (Scott) Holzerland of Alexandria, VA, Leslie (Sean) Lewis of Cecilia and Matthew Edmondson of Elizabethtown; three brothers, William H. (Mauhee) Edmondson and Joseph M. (Patricia) Edmondson all of Elizabethtown and Robert M. Edmondson of Connecticut; two sisters, Ruth Ann Edmondson and Mary Ellen (Ronnie) Bryan all of Elizabethtown and two grandsons, Nathaniel Holzerland and Cooper Lewis. The funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Ambrose Catholic Church with Rev. Ben Brown officiating Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 3 to 7 p.m. and continue after 10 a.m. Friday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church. There will be a Prayer Vigil Service at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the church.
