Bill W. Collins

Bill W. Collins, 74 of Elizabethtown, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 2, 2016. Bill was born and raised in Jackson, KY. He died at home surrounded by his loved ones. He was a member of Franklin Crossroads Baptist Church. Bill served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was a member of the American Legion Post 113 in Elizabethtown. He was an Electrician and was a retired Supervisor for the Department of Transportation. He was preceded in death by his mother, Evalee Spencer Collins, his father, John Paul Collins, and three brothers, Lil Joe Collins, Alton Collins, and Robert Collins. He is survived by his wife, Shirely Franklin Thomas Collins; children, Ronnie Thomas (Leslie) of Glendale, Kevin Thomas (Carla), Michael Thomas, Teresa Thomas Wiarek (Scott) all of Elizabethtown, and Ronnie Harrison of Killeen, TX, currently in Saudi Arabia. He has two grandchildren, Kevin Thomas II and Emily Rose Wiarek of Elizabethtown; his brothers, Herbert Collins of Jackson, Belvin Collins (Josephine) of Trenton, OH, Franklin Collins (Gretha) of Berea and Rex Collins (Dora) of Lebanon, OH; two sisters-in-laws, Alice Colins of Hustonville, KY and Jan Collins of Ohio, and several nieces and nephews, and his beloved pet poodle, Josie Mae. The funeral will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Louie Williams and Rev. Ron Davis officiating. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 1 to 8 p.m. and continue after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Condolences may be expressed online at www.brownfuneral.com.
