Maria K. Mellon, 82, of Elizabethtown, died Thursday, March 31, 2016 at Hardin Memorial Hospital. She was a native of Berlin, Germany and was formerly from Ashland, KY where she worked in retail sales. She was a longtime member of Ft. Knox German Club and enjoyed being a military wife for 21 years and traveling in Europe and other places. She also enjoyed spending time with family, especially her grandchild and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Maria Birsheminsky Kruschinsky, one brother, Albert Kruschinsky and one sister, Katharina Riedel. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Frank A. Mellon, Jr., one son, Frank Albert Mellon and his wife Jacque Dunn, one grandchild, Josh (Anna) Dunn and two great grandchildren, Hayden Bryson and Jacob Dunn. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Brown Funeral Home with Ed Bryson officiating. Burial will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff at 10 a.m. on Thursday.
