Martha Jean Wells, 76, of Elizabethtown, died Friday, March 11, 2016 at her residence. She was a native of Owensboro, KY and a member of New Fellowship Baptist Church. She loved going to Rocky Point, Mexico with her husband, Kenny, was an avid reader and retired from State Farm Insurance in Phoenix, AZ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Wells; a son, Donald Lewis Shacklette; her parents, Jessie and Loretta Carden; a brother, Jesse Carden and 2 sisters, Patricia Carden and Priscilla Ray. She is survived by her son, Stephen (Elizabeth) Shacklette of Elizabethtown; a sister, Connie Kisselbaugh of Elizabethtown; three step grandchildren; nine step great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and many dear friends. A Memorial Service will be Saturday at 3 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 12 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of Contributions to Hosparus or to Kosair Childrens Hospital in Louisville in memory of MaKenzie Rose Anderson.
