William "Bill" Bland Sr

William "Bill" Ervin Bland Sr, 94, passed away at Signature @North Hardin on Saturday, February 27, 2016. He was a native of White Mills, retired from US Navy and served in WWII and Korea War, retired US postal worker, lifelong member of White Mills Christian Church, former chief of Police in New Haven, In. He was a member of Stephensburg Masonic Lodge #212, the Scottish Rite, Mizpah Shrine Temple in Ft. Wayne. He is preceded in death by his wife; Nancy Faye Bland, his parents; Robert and Mary Bland, twelve siblings, and two grandchildren; Jeff Creech and Jana Saylor. He is survived by; two sons; William E. "Buck" (Dawn) Bland Jr. of Etown, Dwayne (Sue) Bland of Louisville, one step son; William (Mel) Erb of Pawley's Island, SC, two daughters; Jan (Barry) Weibel of New Haven, IN and Cathy (Jim) Creech of Spencerville, IN, one brother; Tony Bland of White Mills, two sisters; Joyce Edlin of Hodgenville and Martha Allman of Carolinas, thirteen grandchildren and several great grandchildren. The funeral will be Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Bro. Tim Dennis officiating. Burial will be at White Mills Cemetery. Visitation will be at Brown Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 1 from 4-8 pm and continuing after 9:00 am on Wednesday. There will be a masonic service Tuesday at 7:00 pm.
