Richard Price

Richard L. Price, 49 of Elizabethtown, died Saturday, February 6, 2016 at Hardin Memorial Hospital. A native of Hardin County, he was member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, where he was past President of the Parish Council. He was a 1985 graduate of Elizabethtown High School and he attended Lindsey Wilson College on a baseball scholarship. He has been in Radio, Newspaper, and Cable Radio Communications over 30 years. He was an assistant coach with his sons baseball teams with South Hardin, EABC, GC Burkhead Basketball teams. His favorite past time was coaching and playing with his boys Jordan and Chase. You would often find them in the backyard throwing a ball. Richard was best known as an avid softball player "Hitman" RP23, who recently traveled to Tampa and won the Super National Tournament of Champions. He was preceded in death by his father, Marvin Lee Price; brothers, Kevin Suloff and Donie R. Hodge and his father-in-law, Bobby Thomas. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Tracie Thomas Price and their two sons, Jordan 11 and Chase 9; his mother, Anna Christine Howell Dawson; a sister-in-law Darlene Hodge; his mother-in-law, Martha Thomas and several other sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews and cousins. The funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with Rev. Dan Lincoln officiating. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 3 to 8 p.m. and continue after 9 a.m. Wednesday at Brown Funeral Home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of Contributions to the Hardin Memorial Hospital Foundation for the NICU or to the Education Fund for Jordan and Chase at The Cecilian Bank.
