Wilfred Ray Wright

Wilfred Ray Wright, 66 of Elizabethtown, died Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at Hardin Memorial Hospital. He was a native of Ft. Knox and a member of Northside Baptist Church, where he was a teacher in Awana, was an usher and a member of the financial committee. He was a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University and was a certified firefighter and EMT. He was a former police officer for the Elizabethtown Police Department and a former Deputy Sheriff for the Hardin County Sheriff's Department, where he was the DARE Officer. He worked for Dow Corning in loss prevention, the U. S. Mint and retired from the Army Reserves. He was preceded in death by his father, A. B. Wright and a brother, James L. Wright. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Martha Jarvis Wright; two sons, Craig Wilfred Wright and his fiance Gwen Kenney of Eastview and Corey Ray Wright and his wife Brandy of Cecilia; a special daughter, Misty Wright; his mother, Mary Hope Midkiff Wright of Elizabethtown; one brother, Duane V. Wright and his wife, Cindy of Cecilia; nine grandchildren, Alexis Nicole Wright, Brace Wilfred Wright, Ashton Simoneit, Gavin Simoneit, Cody Benningfield, Kristian Senamontry, Karson Semanontry, Ethan Riggs and Joshua Riggs and one great grandchild, Kamryn Rosenberry. The funeral will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Northside Baptist Church with Rev. Kevin Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Friday from 3 to 8 p.m. and continue after 10 a.m. Saturday at Brown Funeral Home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of Contributions to the American Cancer Society.
