Michael Dwayne Ash

Michael Dwayne Ash, 52 of Elizabethtown, died Friday, January 22, 2016 at Hardin Memorial Hospital. He was a native of Hardin County and was the Minister of Music at Upton Baptist Church. He was a former band member at the Lincoln Jamboree, and was the former owner of Music Depot in Elizabethtown. He had a love for music. He was preceded in death by his father, William Thomas Ash and a brother, James Russell Ash. He is survived by his wife, Glenda Johnson Ash; two daughters, Kayla (Bryant) Gividen of Elizabethtown and Lindsay Ash of Bowling Green; two step sons, Michael (Stephanie) Strange of Elizabethtown and Bradley (Shia) Strange of Rineyville; his mother, Patricia Ann Ash of Elizabethtown; two brothers, his twin brother, Rev. Mitch (Marilyn) Ash and David Ash all of Elizabethtown; two grandchildren, Lukas Gividen and Brookleyn Gividen both of Elizabethtown; five step grandchildren, Andrew Gividen, Hayden Gividen, Elena Strange, Alexis Strange and Conder Strange; an aunt, Mable Cundiff of Cecilia and an uncle, Brad Hamilton of Elizabethtown. The funeral will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Upton Baptist Church with Rev. Mitch Ash and Rev. J. D. Shipp officiating. Burial will follow in Valley Creek Cemetery. Visitation will begin Monday at 4 p.m. and continue after 10 a.m. Tuesday at Upton Baptist Church. Brown Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
