Mary Frances Poe, 80 of Elizabethtown, died Friday, January 8, 2016. She was a native of Hardin County and a member of Central Avenue Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Gordon Poe, her parents, Fletcher C. and Helen Marie Rader Beard; three brothers, James Beard, William Beard and Clarence Beard and two sisters, Catherine Myers and Susan Brawner. She is survived by three sons, William G. Poe, Sr. (Mary Ann) of Rineyville, David Poe (Debbie) of Baltimore, MD and John C. Poe (Barbara) of Bardstown; one daughter, Crystal Hay (Gerald) of Hodgenville; two brothers, Fletcher H. Beard of Cecilia and Ray Beard of Elizabethtown; one sister, Dorothy Allen of Hodgenville; eight grandchildren, William Poe, Jr., Clayton Donald Poe, David LeRoy Poe, Jr., Katelyn Ashley Poe, Britany Poe Henderson, Angel McMichael, Elizabeth McMichael and John Poe; 11 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. The funeral will be Monday at 3 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Stith officiating. Burial will follow in Valley Creek Cemetery.
