Evelyn Earline Greer Rutledge

Evelyn Earline Greer Rutledge, 88, passed away Saturday, November 7 in her sleep, in Radcliff. She was a native of Rayville, LA, graduated from Rayville High School in 1944 and then from Northeast Center of Louisiana State University, Monroe with an associate degree in 1946. She kept books for Wilkerson Motors in Monroe, when she met and married Jack Elwood Rutledge. They married in 1946. They built the home they lived in for almost 60 years, one room at a time, as they could save to buy the materials. Earline continued working as a bookkeeper until their daughter, Pam was born. After that, she worked as a substitute teacher and LA state civil service test administrator until 2012. Jack and Earline attended Memorial United Methodist Church in Monroe. They moved to Elizabethtown, KY in 2012 to be close to their daughter, Pam, son-in-law, Bill and grandson, James. Jack passed away August 2013. Earline was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jack, an infant daughter, Deborah Denise, her parents; William H.C. "Hezzie Greer and Viola Bell Laird Greer, three brothers; infant J.W. Greer, Warren P. Greer and Allen H. Greer and one sister; Hazel O. Greer Hoben. She is survived by one daughter; Pamela Ridlon, who teaches Middle School at Ft. Knox, Ky, son-in-law; Bill, Lt. Colonel (Ret), USAR and an Army civilian attorney at Ft. Knox, grandchildren; Will Ridlon, a nursing graduate student in Columbia, MO, Captain Michael George and Sarah L. Ridlon, US Army, Ft Bliss, TX and James Ridlon, who works in Elizabethtown, Ky, 2 brothers; W.A. and George "Wenchy" Greer, 1 sister; LaValle G. Stuart, all of Rayville, LA, and 2 dogs; Sarah Mae and Merry Belk. Cremation was chosen by family. Services will be held at a later date in LA.
