Vickie Arlene Burgess, 63 of Rineyville, died Sunday, October 18, 2015 at her home. She was a native of Jamestown, TN and a member of New Horizon Baptist Fellowship. She was an Auxiliary member of the Gideon's International and retired after 27 years from Hardin County Schools. She was preceded in death by her parents, Shelby and Marie (Foster) Gunter. She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Joseph William Burgess of Rineyville; two sons, Daniel Burgess of Elizabethtown and Joseph W. Burgess, II of Lexington; one daughter, Melissa Morton of Elizabethtown; five brothers, Larry (Shirley) Gunter of New Mexico, Darrell Gunter, Johnny Gunter, Tommy Gunter and Gary Dale Gunter all of Jamestown, TN; four sisters, Mary Sue (Johnny) Brannon, Anna Lamb, Barbara (Greg) Nelson and Connie Jo Larimore all of Jamestown, TN and five grandchildren, Alexis Jade Burgess, Kristopher Chase Burgess, Kaleb Daniel Burgess, Michael Tyler Morton and Ethan Alexander Burgess. The funeral will be Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at New Horizon Baptist Fellowship with Bro. Steve Hill and Bro. Dwayne Mollison officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home and continue after 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Church.
