Carolyn Goodin Burden, 77 of Elizabethtown, died Friday, October 16, 2015 at Kindred Hospital at Jewish in Louisville. The Elizabethtown native was a member of the Elizabethtown Church of Christ for many years. She was employed by TG&Y for over 20 years, and retired from Walmart after 17 years. She is preceded in death by her son, Raymond Carroll Dowdell, Jr; her parents, Ovet Richard "Jack" Goodin and Florence Louise Holman Goodin, a sister, Norma Jean Hawkins, two husbands, Neil Burden and Raymond C. Dowdell. She is survived by four daughters, Cathy (Mark) Sharman, Terry (Joe) Ballard, Stephanie (Mick) Heibert and Sandi (Dwayne) Young; one son, Michael Dowdell of Elizabethtown; six grandchildren, Christin Braden, Joey Brown, Matthew Wright, Colton Heibert, Clayton Heibert and Sara Morgan, eight great grandchildren, Dylan Ford, Rheagan Braden, Ryleigh Braden, Rheese Braden, Drew Brown, Maddy Wright, Bentley Wright, and McKenzie Heibert, and four step-children, Cindy and Jeff Borders and family, Dwayne and Kathy Burden and family, Roxanne and Philip Alcorn and family, and Lanea and Ricky Cottrell and family. Funeral service will be held at the Elizabethtown Church of Christ at 10:00 am Tuesday, October 20, 2015 with Brother John Board officiating. Burial will be at the Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Monday, October 19, 2015 at Brown Funeral Home from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm and continue after 8 a.m. Tuesday at the Church.
