Rowland "Rick" Ricketts III, 65, passed away at his residence Sunday, September 20, 2015. He was a native of Fort Sill, OK, decorated Vietnam recon marine, and worked civil service with Ft. Knox construction Inspection. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rowland Jr. and Jimmie Ricketts; 2 brothers, David Alan Ricketts and Raymond Dell Ricketts. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Marietta Slayton Ricketts; one son; Charles (Kimberly) Ricketts of Elizabethtown; two daughters; Dawn (Daniel) Browning of Elizabethtown, Eiron Ricketts of Rineyville, 1 brother; Johnny Ricketts of Elizabethtown; 2 sisters; Jimmie Sue Stanford of Benbrook, TX and Karen Angeline of Elizabethtown; 7 grandchildren; Andrew Jakob Ricketts, Karah Cruz, Alyssa Browning, Emmagrace Browning, Jacqueline Hope Dailey, Emily Nicole Dailey, and Josphephine Michelle Dailey; 2 great grandchildren; Benjamin Aryn Dailey and Elizabeth Adalyn Evans. The funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Bro. Leon Chambers officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
