Francis G. Folena

Francis G. "Frank" Folena 85 of Elizabethtown, died Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at his residence. He was a native of Chicago, IL and graduated in 1952 from the University of Illinois. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church, the Elizabethtown Knights of Columbus #1455 and the American Legion Post #113. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict as a 1st Lt. and most recently retired from Elizabethtown Community and Technical College after 18 years. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Patricia Reddinger Folena and his parents, Achille B. and Agnes Sweeney Folena. He is survived by six sons, Daniel (Sheryl) Folena of S. Elgin, IL, Jerome (Sharon) Folena of Lithia, FL, Thomas Folena of Naperville, IL, Andrew Folena and Anthony Folena both of Elizabethtown and Stephen (Jongsuk) Folena of N. Riding, VA; five daughters, Loretta Busse of Elizabethtown, Therese (Sarah) Thorson of Albuquerque, NM, Eileen Felish of Melrose Park, IL, Rose (Mike) Mols of Steward, IL, Mary (Dave) Swartz of Elizabethtown; one brother, Richard (Kathy) Folena of Chicago, IL; two sisters, Laura (Walter) Felde of Chicago, IL and Martha Folena of Schumburg, IL; 27 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. The funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church with Rev. Martin Linebach officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in St. James Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday and continue after 9 a.m. Saturday at Brown Funeral Home. There will be a Prayer Vigil Service at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
