Clyde Anthony Retzlaff

Clyde A. Retzlaff, 82 passed away Friday, July 24, 2015 at the home he shared with his caregiver, after a long battle with Kidney Cancer. Born on May 11, 1933, he lived a long and full life. He served in the Army, owned his own Laundromat business, and was the Vice President of Operations and Savings at Great Midwest Savings in Brookfield, WI, from which he retired. He was also on both the swim team and softball team in the Wisconsin Senior Olympics, where he won gold medals. He was preceded in death by his father, Herbert August Retzlaff, and mother, Gladys J. Miller as well as other family members. He was survived by his caregiver and friend of 18 years, Betty J. Elrod of Elizabethtown, KY; two sons, Steven Anthony Retzlaff and Richard Andrew Retzlaff; granddaughter, Rachel Ratzlaff; grandson, Ryan Retzlaff, all of Milwaukee, WI; cousin, Kenneth B. and Judith Van Dillen of Vienna, VA; best friend, Jimmy and Jenna Anderson of Milwaukee, WI and many other dear friends and honorary family members in Kentucky and Wisconsin. The funeral will be Monday, August 3, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home. A Graveside service will follow at 1 p.m. at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of Contributions to St. Catherine's Church in New Haven.
