Frances Cardin Avery

Frances Cardin Avery of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, wife of James Russell Avery, departed this life for a New Life on December 12, 2014 at the age of 84 years. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend, and was active in Gilead Baptist Church. She was a daughter of Shelby Cardin and Ruth Tabb born in Sonora on January 26, 1930. She was preceded in death by one son, Gregory Allen, her parents and two brothers, James Cardin and Harvey 'Monk' Cardin. Frances is survived by her husband Russell Avery; sister, Mary Elizabeth (Robert) Duggins; son, Craig (Dori) Avery of Nicholasville, KY; daughter, Jane (Warren) Clifford of Elizabethtown, KY; and five grandchildren, Shelby (Mandy) Avery of Lexington, KY, Jill Avery (Shawn) Young, Luke (Bailey) Avery all of Nicholasville, KY, Leslie Clifford (Dean) Smith and Jason Clifford all of Elizabethtown; as well as seven great-grandchildren. The family deeply appreciates the many caregivers that aided Frances through her struggles with Alzheimer's. The funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday at Brown Funeral Home with Dr. Steve Hadden officiating. Burial will follow in Sonora Cemetery.
