Linda Faye Shanks Snyder, 69, of Elizabethtown died Friday July 18, 2014 at Hardin Memorial Hospital. She was a native of Hardin County and retired after 31 years as a Telephone Operator for GTE, she also worked for Swope Cars of Yesteryear since 2009 and was a member of Vine Grove Baptist Church. She was a beautiful person who loved everyone, especially her grandkids. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Robert Snyder; parents, Walton Everett and Christine Majors Shanks, three brothers, Walton Shanks, Jr., Forrest Dale Shanks, James C. Shanks; and two sisters, Dorothy Buck and Joan Clater. She is survived by her daughter, Marissa Ann (Marty) Nall; her son, Jamie (Brandy) Armstrong; two sisters, Judith Asbury of Elizabethtown and Janet Armstrong of Vine Grove; four grandchildren, Chrissy Nall, Amanda (Josh) Huff, Jocelyn Armstrong, Avery Armstrong; and one great grandchild, Tristin Huff. The funeral will be 12 noon Monday at Vine Grove Baptist Church with Chaplain Larry Vance officiating. Burial will follow in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday and continue after 9 a.m. Monday at Brown Funeral Home.
