Elizabeth Foote Cross, 67 of Elizabethtown, passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at the University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville. She was born in Ayer, MA, a member of First Presbyterian Church and retired in 2012 as the Deputy Director of Contracting at Fort Knox Civil Service. Elizabeth was a Kentucky Colonel, and she loved to cook, go on walks, read, play piano, write letters and was a champion at sending cards. A loving wife, mother and "Meme," she loved eating out and traveling to see the scenery and was loved by everyone who knew her and was a friend to all. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Gerad and Mary Foote and Charles Carrol and Mary Richard Hardaway; father-in-law "Papaw", Willie P. Cross and two aunts, Laura Law and Eleanor Burnett. Survivors include her loving husband, Roger Dale Cross; two daughters, Suzanne (Billy) Peak of Bolingbrook, IL and Celeste Barry (Michael) of Elizabethtown; her grandchildren, Cora Peak, Audrey Barry, Griffin Peak, Brandt Barry, Mara Peak, Rhett Barry, Claire Peak and Luke Barry; her parents Edwin S. Foote and Mary Hardaway Newton; one brother, Edwin H. Foote (YunMi) of Louisville; her sister, Margaret Jamner (Jeffrey) of Louisville and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles. The funeral will be Monday at 1 p.m. at First Christian Church of Elizabethtown (1811 N. Mile Street) with Bro. Stuart Jones officiating. Burial will follow in North Hardin Memorial Gardens in Radcliff. Visitation will be Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. and continues after 12 noon Monday all at First Christian Church.
