David DeWayne Dudgeon, 78, of Eastview, died Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at Baptist Health Hardin. He was a native of Breckinridge County, a carpenter, farmer and a logger. He worked hard his entire life, but loved to bird hunt with Dr. Gore, enjoyed fishing when he could, and watching horse pulls. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Velar Ray Dudgeon; a son, David Randall "D.R." Dudgeon; 3 sisters, Ramona Pierce, Margie Goodman, and Betty Cooley; and 1 brother, Donald Dudgeon. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Maxine Pence Dudgeon; a son, Gary Wayne (Lisa) Dudgeon; 2 daughters, Sheila (Dale) Peters and Brenda (Brad) Hilton; 5 grandchildren, Josh Dudgeon, Amanda (William) Triplett, Ashton Hilton, Whitney (Kyler) Bratcher and Cory Hilton; a great granddaughter, Sara Hilton; special caregivers, Shannon and Travis Mouser; special friend, Billy Joe Nugent; a sister Sharon (Charlie) Hilton; other family, Gene, Paul and Faye; and special family friends, the Albert and Fannie Mast family. His funeral will be 1 pm Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at Brown Funeral Home with Bros. Sam Fulkerson and Kenny Merritt officiating. Burial will follow in Eastview Baptist Cemetery.
