Karen Rose Warfield Tapp

Karen Rose Tapp went home to be with the Lord on Friday night, January 6, 2023. She was born in Elizabethtown, Kentucky on October 19, 1947. After graduating from Elizabethtown High School in 1965, she pursued a career in education and went on to earn degrees from both Campbellsville University and Western Kentucky University. Karen touched the lives of countless children and youth having served as an educator for Hardin County Public Schools for 49 years. She was a member of the Kentucky Retired Teachers Association and a member of Elizabethtown, Hardin and Larue County Retired Teachers Association. She was also a member of Immanuel Baptist Church for 58 years and served on various committees as well as serving as a Sunday School teacher. Karen enjoyed reading, spending time with her church family, her beloved friends, but most of all spending time with her grandchildren. Karen was preceded in death by her parents Glen Warfield and Belle Hawkins Warfield. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Thomas Keith Tapp; her sons Keith (Staci) and Kevin (Mandi); and her grandsons Jazz, Chad and Ryan. A memorial service will be held January 15, 2023 at 3:00pm at Immanuel Baptist Church in Elizabethtown. Cremation was chosen. The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to Immanuel Baptist Church toward a fund established in Karen’s honor that will invest in the lives of children, youth and young adults.
