Thomas S. Lott

Thomas S. Lott, 69, of Vine Grove (formally of Lancaster, Ohio), passed away on 22 August 2022 to eternal life with God. Thomas was predeceased in death by his parents, Carroll and Patricia Lott, two sisters, Susie Churcheus and Sally Churchill. He is survived by his loving wife, Lori Lott; his children, Christopher (Shana), Timothy, Russell, and Kimberly (Richard) Young; siblings, Jayne (Walter), William (Cheryl), Terry, Dennis (Marsha); four beloved grandchildren; one great grandson on the way; and several beloved nieces, nephews, family and friends. Thomas served in the Army during the Vietnam War era and enjoyed operating heavy equipment. He also enjoyed rebuilding roads, including bridges in Guatemala after the 1976 earthquake. After a short break, he rejoined the Army and become an Armor M1A1 Tank Commander, serving two tours in Germany before retiring. He continued his dedication to the military in civil service at Fort Knox, working on and supervising major tanks and shooting ranges. He enjoyed building, flying model airplanes, and traveling the world. A Mass of Christian burial is 11 a.m. Saturday, August 27th at St. Christopher Church in Radcliff with Father Jason Dechenne officiating. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at St. Christopher Catholic Church in Radcliff and continues Saturday after 9 a.m. at the church. A graveside service will be held Thursday, September 8th at 11 a.m. in Kentucky Veteran Cemetery-Central in Radcliff. In lieu of flowers, Thomas requests a Catholic Mass be said in his honor, for all the deceased, and/or to perform charitable works or to donate to a reputable charity.
