Josephine Phyllis Meester Plant, 97 of Elizabethtown, passed away Thursday, June 16, 2022 at Baptist Health Hardin. She was a native of Ayr, NE and a member of First Christian Church where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday School. She retired as VP of the Proof Department at Citizens Bank of Elizabethtown and volunteered at Hardin Memorial Hospital. She was a loving mother and grandmother and touched a lot of people's hearts. She was always optimistic, full of laughter and was loved by everyone. Josephine was preceded in death by her husband, Daryl Maurice Plant; two sons, Dennis Plant and Steven Plant; her parents, Meent and Lucinda Benson Meester; six siblings and a grandchild. Survivors include one son, Bradley Plant; two daughters, Darla (David) Smith and Sharon Morris all of Elizabethtown; 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. A celebration of life will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at First Christian Church, with Didi Bacon presiding. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. at the church in the commons area.
