Henry Joseph Thomas left for his heavenly home on February 19, 2022, at the age of 90. This date was also the 68th wedding anniversary for him and his wife, Audrey. Together they had 7 children. Joe was blessed with a large and loving family that will miss him. Joe was a Korean war veteran, serving with the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Morrison Masonic Lodge #76 F & AM and held the title of Master Mason. He was also honored as a Kentucky Colonel. Joe has been a member of First Christian Church for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Gladys Thomas; two children, Rita Diane Thomas and George Michael Thomas; and his siblings, Mary Lee Thompson, Dorothy Cagle, Deedee Mattingly, Louis Allen Thomas, Patrick Thomas and Darryl Wayne Thomas. Loved ones that will miss Joe are his wife of 68 years, Audrey Lynn Thomas; his children, Larry (Theresa) Thomas, Ronnie (Shari) Thomas, Ricky (Sherry) Thomas, Floyd (Carol) Thomas and Sheila (Kim) Gibson. He is also survived by his sisters, Betty Jean Taylor and Margaret Ann Minors. Joe was blessed with 12 grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 7 step great-grandchildren. The funeral will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and continue from 12-2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Condolences may be expressed online at www.brownfuneral.com.
