Joseph Ray Hodge

Joseph Ray Hodge, 80 of Big Clifty, died Monday, October 25, 2021 at Baptist Health Hardin. He was a native of Hardin County, a graduate of Lynnvale High School and a member of Summit United Methodist Church where he was a lay speaker and played church league dartball. He was a member of Gideon International for over 40 years, a member of Franklin Crossroads Masonic Lodge, loved to play golf and farming. He was a retired teacher with the Hardin County School System. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Thomas Hodge and Edna Elizabeth Cash Hodge. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Joye Buchanan Hodge; one son, Kevin Ray (Mary Elizabeth) Hodge of Big Clifty; one daughter, Wendy Jo (Michael) Klave of Columbus, IN; one brother, Gerald Hodge of Big Clifty and six grandchildren, Matthew, Shelby, Cassidy, Jeremy, Alyson and Aubrey. The funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Summit United Methodist Church with Pastor Ben Humphries officiating. Burial will follow in Summit Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Brown Funeral Home and continue after 9 a.m. Thursday at Summit United Methodist Church.
