Pete Mayfield, Jr.

Pete Mayfield, Jr. 90 of Elizabethtown, died Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at Baptist Health Hardin. He was a native of Red Bird, KY, served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and retired from B. F. Goodrich. He was a member of Hodgenville Church of God Family Worship Center. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pete and Laura Hinkle Mayfield and was the last and youngest of 12 siblings. Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Reba Grubbs Mayfield; four sons, Pete (Debbie) Mayfield IV of Sellersburg, IN, Kenneth (Nancy) Mayfield of Harriman, TN, Mark (Melody) Mayfield and Paul (Jenn) Mayfield all of Elizabethtown; nine grandchildren, Ben Mayfield of Louisville, Margaret Mayfield Kennedy (Trey) of New York City, NY, Rebecca Mayfield of Louisville, Kenneth Mayfield (Jennifer) and Kevin Mayfield (Marion) all of Baton Rouge, LA, Tara Mayfield of Oakridge, TN, Tyler Mayfield of Harriman, TN, Joshua Mayfield and Desiree Mayfield Denham (Matthew) all of Elizabethtown and three great-grandchildren, Kylie Mayfield and Daylen and Rosalyn Denham. The funeral will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Hodgenville Church of God Family Worship Center with Pastor Mark Knight officiating. Burial will follow in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the church.
