Margaret Jean Wheeler Embry, 87, of Glendale, died Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at her home in Danville surrounded by her family. She was a native of Bonnieville and a member of Gilead Baptist Church since 1973, where she taught Sunday School and was in the Sunshiners Senior Citizens Group. She was a retired medical assistant at Ireland Army Hospital, an active grandparent who loved cookouts and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Oliver Embry; her parents, William H. and Lela Logsdon Wheeler; a son, Curtis R. Embry; 2 brothers, H.L. "Bud" Wheeler and Thad T. Wheeler; and 2 sisters, Edna Boyle and Una Wheeler. She is survived by 3 daughters, Sherry (Tony) Lanham of Danville, Amanda (Nathan) Clater of Upton and Charlotte (Christopher) Owensby of Glendale; 3 grandchildren, Cheryl (Travis) Thurman, Ellisha (Eric) Booker and Cody (Catherine) Embry; 9 great grandchildren, Caleb Whalin, Kelsey Booker, Ashley Skaggs, Haley Carder, Brittany Cecil, Liam Owensby, Heaven Haycraft, Shelbie Clater and Whitney Clater; and 4 great great grandchildren, Rose Embry, Aubree Embry, Easton Skaggs and Braylee Carder. Her funeral will be at 11 am Saturday at Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Rio Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Glendale Christian Church Cemetery.
