Susan Gail Scantland Skees, 67 of Elizabethtown, left this earth in the arms of angels on July 30th surrounded by love. She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Jane Scantland; a sister, Peggy; her former husband, Patrick Skees and her companion and constant friend for 18 years, Zar. She is survived by her daughter, Hope Skees (Dan) and three grandchildren, Tyler, Taylor and Tristan all of St. Augustine, FL; her sister and best friend, Jan Russell (Butch) of Elizabethtown; nephews, Eric (Jennifer) and Eddie and 7 great nieces and nephews and 3 great-great nieces and nephews. Susan was an encompassment of mind, body, and soul and left an impression on those she crossed paths with. She cared very deeply for those she loved and the spirit that embodied them. Susan was grounded in nature, found peace in sharing her spirit and surrounding all breathing things with love and compassion. On Susan's behalf donations can be made to Forever Homes for Paws in Radcliff. A remembrance of Susan's life will be held for her family and friends on September 18th at 1 p.m. at Grace Heartland Church in Elizabethtown. A celebration of her life will follow at the church.
