Nancy Jeffries, 80, of Elizabethtown passed away Sunday, August 29 after a brief illness. Nancy was born in West Point, Kentucky on September 4, 1940 and spent most of her childhood on their family farm. In 1954 her family purchased and moved to a farm in the Glendale area. Nancy graduated from Glendale High School in 1958 and went on to attend the University of Kentucky. She was actively involved with various organizations throughout her life but was best known for her achievements in real estate. Nancy became a licensed Realtor in 1970 and was one of the first female real estate agents in Hardin County. She went on to obtain her brokers license in 1975 becoming the first female real estate broker within the Hardin County Board of Realtors. Nancy was a true trailblazer - she was the first real estate franchise owner, opening Jeffries Realty Gallery of Homes in 1975. In 1982 she served as the first female president of the Hardin County Board of Realtors. She was selected as the Realtor of the Year in 1992 and in 2020 was selected for the Wall of Honor (which is the highest lifetime achievement award given out by Heart of Kentucky Association of Realtors). She was preceded in death by her parents, George & Hazel Baugh, a sister Betty Baugh DeRossett and a brother Allen Baugh. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Russell Jeffries of Elizabethtown, two daughters, Renee Young (Craig) of Elizabethtown, Terri Tart (Scott) of Harrisburg, NC. Nancy is also survived by 3 granddaughters, Ashley Bewley (Colby), Kaitie Jones (Brandon), Hannah Tart and 4 great grandchildren. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the light of her life. A private memorial service will be held.
