Richard Colvin Southerland, 96 of Elizabethtown, died Monday August 30, 2021 at Baptist Health Hardin. He was a native of Wheatcroft, KY, served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and retired from Kroger Warehouse after 39 years. He was a member of Shawnee Masonic Lodge since 1957 and the American Legion Post #113. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Bernice Southerland; his parents, Henry O. and Cordie Lee Southerland; two brothers, Charles Henry Sutherland and George Edward Southerland and two nephews, Kevin Baron and Ken Gregory. Survivors include his sister, Maxie M. Holland of Louisville and nieces and nephews, Richard (Lindy) Sutherland, Charles Henry Sutherland (Jo), Raymond Sutherland (Kim), Ricky Etheridge (Sharon), Tonia Gregory, Michael (Linda) Southerland and Kathy Baron. The funeral will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 11-1 p.m. at the funeral home.
