Sandra Kay Rogers

Sandra Sandy Kay Rogers, 78, of Elizabethtown, joined her Heavenly Father in eternity on Sunday July 18, 2021. Her faith in Jesus Christ gave her peace as she took her last breath at Baptist Health Hardin Hospital with loved ones nearby. A ray of sunshine, Sandy will be remembered for her sweet, loving, infectious spirit and her desire to always help people. Born in Madisonville and raised in Elizabethtown, Sandy is a 1961 graduate of Elizabethtown High School. She dedicated her life to serving others - working in the medical field for many years and retiring from Helping Hand of Hope in 2020. Sandy was an active and social member of Grace Heartland Church and faithfully served on the board of Hardin County History Museum. Her memory is carried on by her loving companion and caregiver, Kenny Knowles; two children, Lisa Scobee of Elizabethtown and Mark Scobee of Hopkinsville; her sister, Angela (Rich) Gimmel of Louisville; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and an extended family of friends rooted in faith. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jesse Murray and Mary Anthony Murray; brother, Kenneth Murray; and former husband Garnett Rogers. The celebration of Sandys life on Earth is Friday July 23 at 11 a.m. at Grace Heartland Church in Elizabethtown. Burial will follow at Cave Hill Cemetery in Louisville. Friends are also invited to visit with Sandys family at Grace Heartland Church on Thursday July 22 from 4 to 7 p.m. and Friday July 23 at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to Helping Hand of Hope in Sandys honor.
