Ronald Lee Slinker, Sr.

Ronald Lee Slinker, Sr., 76 of Elizabethtown, died Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at Baptist Health Hardin. He was a native of Hardin County and attended Grace Fellowship Church. He was the owner of Slinker's Trenching, a farmer, entrepreneur and did construction work in his younger years. He was hardworking, a loving father, and leader. He always said "If it was easy, everyone would be doing it." He graduated from East Hardin High School, Class of 1964. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nathan "Dutch" and Florence Dailey Slinker; two sisters, Glendena Brawner and Juanita Edlin; nine brothers, Nathan, Roscoe, Louis , Ira, Donald, Jackie, Thomas Slinker, Calvin Brawner, and Vernon Brawner. He is survived by his wife, Norma S. Slinker; two sons, Kevin D. Slinker and Ronald Lee Slinker, Jr. all of Elizabethtown; two daughters, Paula K. (Gary) Willis of Underwood, IN and Crystal (Rod) Garrison of Elizabethtown; two step children, Steven G. (Josie) Scovill of Broomfield, CO and Dawn Michele Scovill of Elizabethtown; nine grandchildren, Jason, K.J., Alec, Mackenzie, Landan, Jaxson, Aleah, Roman and Nora; four step grandchildren, Ian, Talon, Kyla and Allyson and one great granddaughter, Jasmon. The funeral will be Saturday at 5 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home with Gerald Payton officiating. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
