James L. Vowels, 78, of Elizabethtown, died Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at Baptist Health Hardin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Lewis and Carrie Vowels. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl; three sons, James Vowels, Chris Vowels, and Tre (Christina) Tucker; three daughters, Theresa (Joe) Tanner, Stacy Rupe, and Lesley Vowels; one sister, Marge Riley; three brothers, David (Marilyn) Vowels, Gary Vowels, and Donnie (Angie) Vowels; 16 grandchildren, Jessica, Anthony, Dylan, Savannah, Trevor, Jazlyn, Cambrynn, Brayleigh, Tiffany, Brooke, Eli, Natalie, Joanna, Arturo, Dallas, and Collin; 8 great-grandchildren; six nieces, and two nephews. The funeral is at 10:30 a.m. EST Wednesday, June 23, at McGrew Memorial General Baptist Church with Bro. Charles Smith officiating. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. EST Tuesday, June 22nd and continues after 9 a.m. EST Wednesday the 23rd, all at McGrew Memorial General Baptist Church.
