Annie Faye Matthis, also known as "Ma Faye", age 93 of Elizabethtown, passed away peacefully in her sleep during the early morning hours on Saturday, May 29, 2021. She was born on April 10, 1928 in Vine Grove, Kentucky and graduated from Glendale High School in 1946. She married her high school sweetheart, Ira Leroy Matthis, in 1948, and they were happily married for almost 50 years until he passed away in 1998. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Sandra Faye Felker; her parents, Everett and Beatrice Bailey; her brother, Paul Bailey; and her beloved poodle, Tina. She is survived by her daughter, Karen Elaine Hudson of Cecilia; two granddaughters, Kristie Faye Hudson of Scottsdale, AZ and Shannon Jane Rodriguez of Midland, TX; two great-granddaughters, Haley Jane McGlothlin and Alaina Brooke Rodriguez; her sister, Opal Ellis of Elizabethtown; and many nieces and nephews. She enjoyed spending time with her family, tending to her flowers, and doing the daily Jumble in The News Enterprise. The funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Hardin Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and continue after 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
